My wife and I retired after 25 years as police officers in Michgan. We decided we wanted to move to a warmer climate. We purchased property outside of Canyon Lake in Mystic Shores. When we decided to build, we checked the area for a builder and were introduced to Gret and Karen Payne of Hilltex Construction.

The entire construction process took place while we were in Michigan. Karen kept us informed and sent us pictures via e-mail.

Two weeks ahead of our date the house was complete. It is beautiful. The house came in under bid and we feel that we got much more than we expected. Their quality of workmanship and attention to detail is much better than in any of our previous homes.

I have talked to many people who cannot believe that we would undertake such a project being 1500 miles away without any local oversight. My reply was that we had oversight from Hilltex Construction. We hired them and they came through. Greg and Karen Payne treated us like family and never left us with any doubt that our best interests were in their minds.
